The Company

Collier & Catchpole are one of the longest-established independent merchants in the UK with roots stretching back more than 150 years to the time of the Crimean War.

The problem

The previous digital solution lacked the functionality and offered only a limited product range so the revenues from eCommerce remained remained low. Preparing the company for launch also revealed that there were multiple issues that needed to be addressed, including product data, pricing, choice of product ranges and

We thought that the bulk of the work would be the population of the website with data and images. Although a huge task, it soon became clear that the project would have an impact on all areas of our business from accounts to operations

The Solution

The company launched a new website built on the eCommonSense platform at the beginning of 2020. It included class-leading functionality along with a hugely expanded product range with all of the associated data needed for customers to make a purchase.

The Benefits

While the website revenue increased significantly, the main benefit has been how Collier & Catchpole has become more customer-focused and organised as a whole business. They have improved their pricing systems so that everyone understands them and has complete visibility.
