The Company
Established in 1869, JT Dove started in Newcastle as one of the city’s very earliest merchants to supply the building industry. Today the company is a major stockist of Timber, Plumbing & Building Materials serving every sector of the construction industry.
The problem
The company needed a class-leading solution to allow them to see off competition from nationals and other disruptive retailers.
We chose eCommonSense as our digital partner because we wanted someone who knew digital and knew the builders' merchant sector. They ticked all the boxes in this respect which meant that we have a solution that is designed specifically for merchants
The Solution
The company launched a new website built on the eCommonSense platform just as the country went into lockdown due to the global Covid-19 pandemic. The situation meant that having an optimised website was even more important to merchants although this had been planned for a number of months. This has allowed the company to compete with nationals and other disruptive retailers that are eyeing up the market.
The Benefits
Deep integration with the trading system, Kerridge, meant that e-Commerce could be delivered much more effectively and efficiently. In addition, the product information management system helped them to sort out all of the necessary data that was needed for customers to select the right product.
